These terms are the agreement between you and Anren when you use it. We've kept them as plain as we honestly can. Using Anren means you agree to them.
This is a plain-language agreement for Anren's early, US, 18+, invite-only period. It will be reviewed and expanded by a lawyer before Anren opens to the public. Anren is operated by Anren LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Anren,” “we,” “us”). Effective date: August 14, 2026.
You must be 18 or older and, during this early period, located in the United States. By using Anren you confirm that you are. Anren is not designed for or directed at anyone under 18.
Anren is an AI tool for reflection, journaling, and self-discovery. Everything Anren says is generated by artificial intelligence, not a human.
Anren is not therapy, not medical or mental-health care, not a crisis service, and not professional advice of any kind. It is not a substitute for a licensed professional or for the people in your life. Do not rely on Anren for medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional decisions. If you may be in crisis, see our Safety & Crisis Support page — in the US, call or text 988, or 911 for immediate danger.
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Don't share your access or let anyone under 18 use your account. Tell us if you think your account has been used without your permission.
What you write in Anren is yours. You can see everything Anren holds about you, export it, and delete it. To make Anren work, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to operate and improve Anren for you — never to sell it or advertise to you. How your data is handled, who processes it, and your privacy rights are described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Reflection naturally involves the people in your life, and Anren is built to hold your side of those relationships — your experience, your history, what someone means to you — never to build a file on another person. When you mention someone, that becomes part of your private record, handled exactly like the rest of your data (see the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for what you choose to share about others, so keep it to your own experience and don't use Anren to harass anyone or to gather or store information about someone for purposes beyond your own reflection.
Please don't use Anren to break the law, to harm others, to try to break or misuse the service, or to attempt to access other people's data. We may suspend or end access that puts users, the service, or others at risk.
Some use of Anren is or will be paid. If you buy access, we'll show you the price and what you're paying for before you're charged. If any plan renews automatically, we'll tell you clearly before you buy, and you can cancel at any time through your account or by emailing us; cancellation stops future charges. Prices may change with notice. Any refund terms will be stated at the point of purchase. You remain able to see, export, and delete your data whether or not you're paying.
Anren is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work hard to make it good, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything it generates is accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
Anren invites honest self-reflection, which can surface difficult feelings. You use it voluntarily and are responsible for your own wellbeing and choices. If reflection ever feels like more than a self-guided tool should hold, please step away and reach a professional or a crisis line.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Anren and its people won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to Anren is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
If your misuse of Anren or violation of these terms causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
We'd always rather resolve a concern directly, so please email us first. If we can't resolve it, you and Anren agree that disputes will be settled by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and that claims will be brought only on an individual basis, not as a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms by emailing [email protected] with “arbitration opt-out” and your account email. Nothing here waives any right that cannot be waived by law, including certain claims under consumer-health-privacy statutes.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where your local consumer-protection law provides rights that can't be waived.
Anren is early and evolving, so these terms may change; if we make an important change we'll give reasonable notice, and continuing to use Anren means you accept the update. You can stop using Anren at any time, and we may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or to protect users or the service. Your right to see, export, and delete your data survives.
