Your data & trust

Your inner life is not inventory.

Anren holds people in moments of real openness. That is the deepest responsibility it has. Here is how what you share is held, in plain words, and where to read the exact terms.

✦ 01

Yours to see

What Anren holds about you is written in plain words. You can read it in the app, and your export shows the rest. Exactly what's collected ›

✦ 02

Yours to set straight

When Anren gets you wrong, tell it, in conversation. It listens, and the record changes. There's no form to edit the record directly yet; if something needs fixing by hand, write to us and we'll correct it.

✦ 03

Yours to take or erase

Download a readable copy of your record in the app, any time. Delete it, and it leaves our live systems, with backups rolling over on their normal schedule. Paying or not. How deletion works ›

No ads. Not for sale.

Anren's only customer is you. There is no advertiser behind the curtain, and nothing about you is sold to anyone. This isn't a setting to find and switch off. It's how Anren is built, and the privacy policy says exactly how it's held.

Consent comes first

You choose what to share, and what's done with it.

Because Anren talks, consent can be a real conversation rather than a click-through you scroll past. What you don't want held, you don't share.

Sharing excerpts to improve Anren is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off again as easily. The privacy policy names every door: the AI provider Anren runs on, which doesn't train its models on your conversations; the services that run the app; the founder's own access to keep the service running, which is logged; a review of excerpts to improve Anren, only if you turn it on; and the legal exceptions every company has. The full list, dated ›

Most people never get to see what a service has decided about them. With Anren, you can read it, argue with it, and have it changed.

The same promise, as a map

Three places your words can be, and one they can't.

Where what you say goes, who reads it, and the only road out, which you'd have to open yourself. The exact terms are in the privacy policy; if the map and the policy ever disagree, the policy wins, and we'd want to know.

What the map doesn't show

How Anren thinks.

How it decides what to remember, what to bring back on a given day, what a star is made of, when to ask instead of guess. That's the craft, years of it, and it's what makes Anren Anren. We keep it ours the way a good kitchen keeps its recipes, and we say so rather than pretend there's nothing to keep. Everything about where your words go and who can see them is on this page.

The deepest safeguard

Anren talks. It doesn't reach into your world.

Of itself, Anren takes almost no action in your world: no reaching into your accounts, no acting on other services for you, no moving money, no sending on your behalf.

This is a safeguard to keep, not a limitation to grow out of. The smaller the surface that can act, the smaller the harm any slip could cause. When Anren does one day connect to other tools, it will be with your permission, piece by piece, and you'll be able to take it back.

Words can't be made perfectly safe by rule, so the surface that can take irreversible action stays small enough that it never has to be.

Safety overrides everything

When someone is in crisis, the reflective work stops.

Anren is for growth and reflection, not crisis care, and it never pretends to be.

If it senses real distress, it shifts fully into care: warmth, no alarm, and a direct turn toward real human help. Resources first, and Anren stays: I'm still here. You don't have to be alone with this right now. Anren is not a therapist, and it says so. When you need human help, helping you find it is the whole of the job. Safety & crisis, in full ›

If Anren isn't the right thing for you, it would rather tell you that, and point you somewhere better, than keep you.

What it will cost

Priced by what you actually use.

Anren is paid for by the people who use it, and by no one else. You pay in credits that you spend as you actually use it, closer to how coaching is paid for than to typical software. Plans are monthly, and you can cancel any time.

The cost is deliberately a gentle counterweight: a quiet reason to keep your living out in the world, where it belongs. There's no meter ticking inside a session and no engineered urgency. If the work isn't worth what it costs, that's a sign to make Anren better, never to engineer your behavior.

Exact pricing is still being settled with care, and the beta is free today. Safety is never behind a paywall: the crisis resources are always free and always in the app. The exact terms ›

And the planet

AI has an environmental cost. Anren won't pretend otherwise.

It's measured honestly and minimized by design, and the commitment is to offset more than is emitted, with what's been done stated apart from what's only been promised.

The footprint, honestly ›

Anren's reputation is its principles. Being known as the place where the work is real and the trust is held with integrity is the whole of the point.
